Most gardening advice comes from sea-level climates. At 5,400 feet with 300 days of sunshine, 14 inches of annual rain, and soil that swings between rock-hard clay and powdery dust, what works in Portland or Austin often fails here. We design for this place — not in spite of it, but because of it.
What we do differently
Every garden we build starts with the site: sun patterns at altitude, wind corridors off the Flatirons, how snowmelt moves through your yard in April. We use Colorado-native and high-altitude-adapted plants because they survive without babying, and we plan irrigation around Boulder's water reality, not a landscaper's wish list.
