How much does a garden design cost?
Every garden is different, so we provide free on-site consultations first. We'll walk your property, talk about what you want, and give you a ballpark before any design work starts. Formal design proposals come with a fixed price — no surprises.
How far in advance should I book?
Design projects typically book 4–6 weeks out, especially in spring (March–May) and early fall (September–October). Maintenance and cleanup slots have more flexibility. If you're planning a spring installation, reach out in January or February to get on the schedule.
When is the best time to plant in Boulder?
Boulder's planting season runs roughly mid-May through mid-October, with spring (May–June) and early fall (September) being the ideal windows. Summer planting is possible but requires more careful watering. We plan installations around your site's specific conditions and the plant palette we select — timing follows the garden, not the calendar.
Do you only use native plants?
Not exclusively — but we lead with them. Colorado-native plants are the best foundation for a low-maintenance, drought-aware garden at altitude. We supplement with well-behaved adapted plants that thrive in Boulder's climate without becoming invasive. We'll always explain why we chose what we chose.
Can you handle large or multi-phase projects?
Yes — most of our design projects are phased over a season or two. We'll develop a master plan so each phase makes sense on its own and builds toward the full vision. This lets you spread the investment while ensuring the final garden feels cohesive, not piecemeal.
What areas do you serve?
We're based in Boulder and serve the surrounding Front Range communities: Louisville, Lafayette, Superior, Longmont, Nederland, and Lyons. If you're within about 30 minutes of Boulder, we can probably reach you — call the office if you're unsure.
